What is Remarketing/Retargeting?

What exactly is remarketing and where would I see retargeting ads show up?

Retargeting, a.k.a. remarketing, is a form of digital marketing that allows your ads to be shown to users who have already been on your website.

Retargeting helps with maximising your impact to users to your website. If you have a 4% conversion rate, 96% of visitors to your website are leaving without converting. Reaching out to these people again will keep your brand/product in their mind and potentially remind them to convert if it had slipped their mind. There are a number of things that you can do to get the most out of your retargeting ads. This is an opportunity to cut through any of your customer’s objections by offering them advice on other features, offer a discount or remind them why they need your product/service.

Retargeting is primarily done through Google AdWords and Facebook, however there are other platforms that offer this service. These ads can be displayed across the Google Display Network, Facebook and many other places online.
